Sun- loving Annuals:
Alyssum 'Carpet of Snow':  An excellent summer edging or container plant; the white flowers smell like honey.
Borage: Sky blue blossoms (visited by bees) and leaves are edible with cucumber flavor.
Calendula 'Zeolights': A three season bloomer loaded with apricot petals with a maroon reverse. The mild tasting petals are edible, beautiful sprinkled in salads or as a garnish.
Cosmos 'Daydream':  This is a bushy plant to 3' with fine, feathery foliage. The large flowers have petals of an unusual color: cheerful pink fading to white at the edges.

Perennials:
Alchemilla erthropoda (Red Stemmed Lady's Mantle):  10" high x 8" wide, part or full sun. Smaller and less invasive than A. mollis, this moderate re-seeder likes moist, humus-rich soil. Native to the mountains of Europe.
Carex morrowii 'Ice Dance': Hardy evergreen sedge grass to 18"x 18", sun or shade. Moderate spreader with green leaves and cream margins, likes moist to average soil.
Chives: Very cold hardy,  drought tolerant plant to 1'x 1', full sun or light shade. Early onion-flavored greens and edible purple flowers.
Dicentra formosa (Western Bleeding Heart): This delicate looking native beauty for partial shade is surprisingly tough, slowly spreading and tolerant of summer drought.
Knautia macedonica ( Scabious):  A sun-loving, drought tolerant plant to 2' x2' with masses of bright burgundy-red colored pincushion flowers. Will self-sow.
Sedum 'Autumn Joy' (Stonecrop): Full or part sun, average to poor soil. A drought tolerant succulent with four seasons of beauty. Butterflies love the lasting pink flowers.
Sedum-Amethyst flowered (Stonecrop): 18" x 18", full or part sun, average to poor soil. More compact than Autumn Joy, with light purple flowers.
Tiarella cordifolia 'Oak Leaf'(Foamflower):  18"x 18" , full to part shade. A selection of an Eastern native woodland saxifrage with spires of light pink, long lasting blooms and burgundy tinted winter foliage. Prefers moist, rich, well-drained soils.
